Getting Started
You are about to join a server with no starter kits, no teleportation, and no safety net. The world is on Hard difficulty, and you will spawn at a random location with an empty inventory. Here is how to survive your first session and start building a life in Mooshroomia.
Your First Minutes
When you join for the first time, DonutSpawn drops you at a random location somewhere in the 7,000 by 7,000 block world. You will not be near spawn, and you will not be near other players. Look around, find the nearest tree, and start punching.
Your immediate priorities:
- Get wood. Punch a tree. Craft a crafting table and wooden tools.
- Find stone. Dig down or find an exposed cliff face. Upgrade to stone tools.
- Build shelter. Night comes fast, and Hard mode mobs are no joke. A dirt hut with a door will keep you alive.
- Craft a bed. Kill three sheep for wool. A bed sets your respawn point -- without one, death sends you back to a random location.
Do not skip the bed. On a server with no teleportation, losing your location means losing everything you have built.
Making Money
The server currency is Diamond Dollars. To mint money, mine diamonds and sell them to the server:
/sell diamond
Each diamond converts to $10,000. This is the only way new money enters the economy. Hold the diamonds in your hand or have them in your inventory when you run the command.
Check your current balance at any time:
/bal
Pay another player directly:
/pay <player> <amount>
Claiming Land
Land claims protect your builds from griefing. Claims are purchased with netherite, not diamonds.
Step 1: Mine ancient debris. Travel to the Nether and mine ancient debris at low Y levels. This is dangerous and time-consuming -- netherite is meant to be expensive.
Step 2: Smelt and craft. Smelt ancient debris into netherite scraps, then craft four scraps with four gold ingots into a netherite ingot.
Step 3: Buy claim blocks.
/claimblocks buy <amount>
One netherite ingot buys 100 claim blocks. Each claim block protects one block of surface area (the claim extends from bedrock to sky).
Step 4: Mark your claim. Equip a Golden Axe (not a golden shovel -- this is LMC tradition) and right-click two opposite corners of the area you want to claim. The claim boundaries will be shown with gold blocks and glowstone.
Check your current claim block balance:
/claimblocks
To inspect an existing claim, right-click it with a Stick.
Setting Up a Shop
Player shops are the backbone of the economy. To create one:
- Place a chest in your claimed land.
- Stock it with the item you want to sell.
- Look at the chest and run:
/qs create <price>
This creates a sell shop. Players can right-click the chest to buy items at your price. You can also create buy shops (where players sell items to you) with /qs create <price> buy.
There is no tax on transactions. The full price goes to the seller.
Getting Around
There is no /home, /spawn, /tpa, /back, or /warp. If you want to get somewhere, you walk, ride, sail, or fly with an elytra.
The Nether is your fast-travel network. One block of movement in the Nether equals eight blocks in the Overworld. Many players build nether highways -- covered paths through the nether -- to connect distant locations. If you find one, consider yourself lucky. If you do not, consider building one.
Communication
Global chat: Just type normally. Everyone on the server sees it.
Local chat: Prefix your message with #. Only players within 99 blocks will see it.
#anyone nearby have iron to trade?
Discord: The server Discord is integrated with in-game chat. Join for community discussion and announcements.
The Web Map
Mooshroomia runs a live Dynmap that shows the world, player locations, and claim boundaries. Access it in your browser to scout locations, find other players, or plan a route.
Haksnbot
If you see a player named Haksnbot in chat, that is the server's AI agent. It plays on the server like any other player -- mining, building, and trading. It can answer questions about server mechanics, commands, and rules. Feel free to ask it anything in chat.
