The Network
Mooshroomia is part of a multi-server network operated by Finite Frontier. All servers are connected through a Velocity proxy, allowing players to connect once and move freely between servers using the /server command. Cross-server chat, permissions, and player lists work seamlessly across the entire network.
Architecture
Player -> Velocity Proxy (port 25565)
|-- Hub (lobby/portal server)
|-- Mooshroomia (main survival world)
+-- TheFrontier (museum server, 2021-2024 world)
The Velocity proxy handles the initial connection and routes players to the appropriate backend server. Each server runs independently but shares chat, permissions, and other systems through Redis and MariaDB.

Servers
Hub
The lobby server. Players arrive here when they first connect to the network. A nether portal on the Hub transfers you directly to Mooshroomia. You can also use /server Mooshroomia from anywhere on the network.
Mooshroomia
The main survival world and the heart of the server. This is where all the gameplay happens -- a libertarian diamond-backed economy, finite world borders, player-run shops, land claims, and no teleportation commands. Everything you accomplish here, you earn.
TheFrontier
The original Finite Frontier main world, active from January 2021 through April 2024, preserved as a read-only museum. The server is set to adventure mode so visitors can explore the full history of builds and settlements without modifying anything. It contains 1,629 preserved GriefPrevention claims from the original server, including the Xanadu custom dimension.
TheFrontier was originally running Paper 1.16.5 and has since been upgraded to run on Paper 1.21.8 with on-demand chunk conversion. Access it with /server TheFrontier (permission required).
Cross-Server Features
The network shares several systems across all servers:
- Chat -- CarbonChat routes messages across all servers via Redis. A message sent on the Hub appears on Mooshroomia and TheFrontier.
- Permissions -- LuckPerms synchronizes player permissions across all servers using MariaDB and Redis.
- Tab list -- Velocitab displays players from every server in a single unified tab list.
- Reconnection -- ReconnectVelocity remembers which server you were on. When you disconnect and reconnect, you are returned to the same server automatically.
- Discord bridge -- DiscordSRV runs on the Hub and bridges chat between Discord and the entire Minecraft network.
